About me:

I provide high-quality personal English tutoring with specialist learning support for children and young adults aged 5 to 25 with special educational needs (SEN) who find coping in a school or college environment challenging, and would benefit from additional English tutoring, guidance and support in specialised areas.

I am dedicated to helping students progress to the best of their ability.

Providing support for children and young people with:

Autism spectrum disorder (ASD), attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), delayed learning development (DLD), global developmental delay (GLD), sensory processing disorder (SPD), dyslexia, dysgraphia, focus and concentration difficulties, and other special educational needs. I also support learners with managing anxiety.

Working in partnership with the families of SEN children:

Being the parent or carer of a child with SEN can be challenging and isolating. I am devoted to supporting parents; in partnership we will work together to find ways of making your life easier so you are no longer alone in your struggle.

My approach:

• Patient, calm, warm and nurturing, focusing on the pupil’s individual needs
• Helping to foster and enhance self-confidence, independence and essential life skills
• Developing bespoke tutoring to boost academic performance in English, including reading, writing and phonics
• Providing family-centred care for all those who need my support

I have 23 years of experience working as an English teacher with children and young people, including supporting those with special educational needs. I am an English subject specialist with a Postgraduate Certificate in Education and an undergraduate degree with honours in English Literature.
